The humid conditions combined with the rich soil along the Nile River Valley create the perfect conditions to grow long cotton fibres - also known as staples. The long staple allows for more continous fibre used in creating threads or yarns. While Egyptian yarn is smaller in diameter, it is stronger than other cottons. Smaller yarn equals more threads per square inch creating a stronger fabric that is light weight and breathes well. Having a higher thread count means the fabric will be incredibly strong and will last for years.
